Chairman’s Reserve 1931 5th Edition
The fifth release from St. Lucia Distillers and the 1931 bottlings, celebrating the year that Dennery distillery merged with another local distillery to form St. Lucia Distillers. There’s are always delicious indeed – well worth exploring if you’re a rum enthusiast.
The brand celebrates the inauguration of a new distillery in February 1931 in the Mabouya Valley, near Dennery, in St. Lucia. The Distillery was founded by Denis Barnard and produced rum until 1972 when St. Lucia Distillers was formed out of the merging of the Dennery distillery and the Roseau Distillery.” The First Edition from 2011 celebrated 80 years, whereas the Fifth Edition being reviewed today is celebrating 84 years and this is reflected with the updated wording on the box and bottle.
Rum Blend
Single Blended Rum – a blend of only pot still and traditional column still. The rums in this blend have been aged 6-12 years and come from SLD’s three pot and one Coffey still.
Maturation
The rum has been aged in Bourbon casks and blended together to finish in Port Pipes/casks.
94% Bourbon; 6% Port Cask
Age: Aged six to twelve years. (13% 15 year; 6% 11 year; 18% 10 year; 36% 9 year; 16% 7 year; 11% 6 year)
